Since 2006, Espoir Jeunes has been helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Gaoua, Burkina Faso, build themselves a better future through a financially-sustainable approach.
Starting off with only 4 children, the project has grown significantly to finance the housing, food, and education of 15 boys and 16 girls. Among the many success stories of this project, 4 students are currently attending university in the capital, Ouagadougou, 1 student is finishing his education as a primary school teacher, and 3 others have become skilled workers thanks to effective apprenticeships with local industry.
Espoir Jeunes is also unique thanks to its innovative, sustainable and self-financing model. Through multiple local cash-generating projects, Espoir Jeunes is able to independently cover a share of its running costs. We aim to create a fully self financed community within the next 3 years – to do so we need your help!
